Sports Performance

A large part of any successful athletes drive and determination comes from their mental strength.

Athletes that possess the ‘Killer Instinct’ for winning have a distinct advantage over those that simply compete.

We as humans set ourselves limits and artificial barriers to our own successes and these become self defeating.

Examples of barriers include

  • A certain weight lifted for a certain number of reps.

  • A certain number of laps run

  • A certain amount of time spent at the gym

Although it is good to have targets these can become a limitation for example you will know that you want to lift that weight 10 times and so by 8 you will fail or start to fail because you have already set yourself the finishing goal of 10.

We also can instill in ourselves a failure by over thinking the situation.

For example

  • A golfer who is under pressure to sink a putt will think ‘don’t miss’ so many times that he ends up missing.

  • A Darts Player who needs a treble 20 will always miss by a small amount

  • A powerlifter who needs to lift a heavy weight will think so much about the heaviness of that weight that he will defeat himself and convince himself that he cannot lift it before he even grasps the bar.

Performance Hypnosis combines a range of techniques both conscious and subconscious to focus your mind and help you succeed where before you may have failed.

Examples of our techniques include

  • Visualisation of the action before it has occurred so that you are simply repeating a performed action successfully.

  • Removal of mental barriers allowing you to push yourself far ahead of your previous best performance.

  • Positive Aura Techniques for stage presence and confidence in front of a crowd.

  • Tension and stress reduction techniques to eliminate pre-contest nerves

  • Aggression and strength focussing techniques for MMA, bodybuilding, powerlifting and strength sports.

But that’s not all……

Tom Blackman has used specific methods to develop his own training to continually improve.

A large part of success in sports comes from real world knowledge and application.  Many therapists may be able to help you but very few will have the knowledge gained from competitive sports to actually give you real world advice on preparation and training.

In addition to this Tom has a vast wealth of nutritional and sports supplement knowledge from his years of training and coaching athletes to be able to give you the information and education in diet that so many athletes lack but which is so important in gaining the edge over the competition.

So when we talk about sports performance we give you the full package not just the mental focus.
